Media hype worked for Apple, why didn't it work for Palm?
One has to wonder why media hype is causing geeks everywhere to line up in front of Apple and AT&T stores to purchase an iPhone, while Palm’s “secret” Foleo didn’t receive the same press.
You didn’t see throngs lined up in front of computer stores for Palm’s release. But, hordes everywhere are blogging and video casting about the iPhone.
Could it be that Palm was already a failing company, while Apple had done so well with iTunes and the iPod? There’s a lesson to be learned here, I’m sure.
