Palm's secret innovative technology is out. It's a -- laptop???

I’m sure that someone, somewhere will benefit from Palm’s latest release, the Foleo, but the build-up was just hype.  The blurbs in the news indicated that Palm was releasing something new – “innovative”.  What they actually released is a laptop that connects to the PDA/Phone wirelessly and gives you a full keyboard and a 10–inch screen.

You can do this now with software running on your current hardware.  What is so innovative about it?

I keep reading and re-reading the articles announcing this technology.  I keep looking for something I may have missed.  I even watched the demo.  Cool music, but still nothing except for the instant-on, instant-off feature.

I wonder which one will run out of battery first, the Foleo or the Smartphone.

Maybe Palm is working to win the “no innovation” award this year.

Of course, anything released today is going to pale in comparison to Microsoft’s Surface technology.  I feel sorry for any company that planned a major release for today.
