First rule of setting up Windows Mobile Device Center
After installing Windows Mobile Device Center on Windows Vista, I couldn’t get my mobile device to connect properly. But — I forgot an all important thing I’ve learned: always soft reset your Windows Mobile device after installing a new version of ActiveSync, or in this case, Windows Mobile Device Center. There’s something about the partnership with the PC that gets shifted off-center or something.
After a soft reset of my Windows Mobile device, all is functioning correctly.
