Working with a new keyboard and mouse today
For my birthday yesterday, the wife gave me a new keyboard and mouse to replace my old set. My old one worked great for a long while, but it finally started to wear out. My old one was the Logitech Cordless MX Duo 967300-0403:

The mouse was rechargeable, which was a big selling point when I purchased it. It worked great, but eventually, the plastic on the mouse wore down and no longer fit into the recharging base. Imagine that. It would take me a good 10 minutes to align the mouse just right to keep it charged at night.
Well, instead of Logitech this time, I went with the Microsoft Wireless Optical Desktop 4000:

So far, no big complaints (well, except I already had to replace the batteries in the keyboard because the batteries included in the box were almost dead). The mouse and keyboard are both comfortable. With any new keyboard, though, you do have to get used to new key positioning. The End and Home keys are in different places. I’m already having to actually look at the keyboard to find those keys when I’m typing. I’m sure I’ll get used to it in no time. The feel of the keys are actually better than the Logitech, so it already feels like I’m typing faster.
This version of the Microsoft duo isn’t rechargeable like the Logitech was. But, the box touts 6 month usage using standard AA batteries. We’ll see.
