Day something or another: Taking the Windows Live OneCare Challenge
I really, really wanted to hate Windows Live OneCare. I really wanted to think that those companies that have been around the security industry, for what seems like eons (in Internet years), would be better and more comprehensive.
This morning my computer woke to tell me that I had some outstanding issues. The OneCare icon, which is normally green, was showing Orange. What did this mean? Opening OneCare, it warned me that I hadn’t scanned for Spyware/Adware/Scumware in a while. So, I allowed it to run the scan. 15 minutes later, the OneCare icon was Green again. No fuss. And, the OneCare scan was less CPU intensive than NewsGator (my RSS reader for MS Outlook).
OneCare rocks!
