Firefox 1.1 will be released three months later than originally planned, according to Ben Goodger, the lead programmer on Firefox.

Some reports have speculated that the change in date was caused by Goodger's recent move to Google. But Goodger denied these reports in a later post.

Toolbar Design Software Releases Toolbar Designer 2.0

Custom IE toolbar is a great way to promote website, provide visitors with extra options for searching and online/offline browsing, simplify navigation and drive more traffic. After astounding success of Google and Alexa toolbars, thousands of search engines, e-commerce, news and portal sites are starting to follow their lead by offering their visitors own custom toolbars for Internet Explorer.

Toolbar Designer 2.0 is the first freeware toolbar-making tool that allows any person without programming experience to create own toolbars.

With Toolbar Designer, any toolbar can be created by using simple "point-and-click" and "drag'n'drop" techniques. The program comes with a comprehensive collection of buttons, boxes (search, password, etc), drop-down menus and other toolbar elements. Custom images and elements can be inserted, too. Average toolbar is created in just 10 minutes.

Here are some possible applications for Toolbar Designer:

- Multi search engine search toolbars

- E-commerce toolbars that can retrieve all the stock items and display them as a set of navigation menus on the toolbar

- Corporate toolbars that let employees use all the services of Intranet systems

- MP3 and video search toolbars

- Stock quotes and currency exchange toolbars

Version 2.0 introduces the revolutionary feature of instant toolbar compilation directly from the application. You can also build a distributable installation package by just clicking a single button.

Toolbar Designer 2.0 is a freeware, distributed electronically over the Internet. For an additional fee Toolbar Designer Software can add a number of features into a custom toolbar:

- Visual Basic and JScript scripting support

- Auto-updating option which replaces old toolbars with new ones automatically. This is an essential feature, since most websites get updated/modified several times a year

- IE skins and custom background color

- Custom toolbar objects, such as news ticker, drop-down mini-page

- Menus and submenus can be created from the output of server side scripts (like PHP, Perl CGI or ASP)

- Ability to search on different search engines

- Signing toolbar code with a Digital Certificate

- Toolbar configuration menu

- Search words highlighting on the HTML page

- Pop-up blocker and page zoom controls

- Cookie and history cleaning options

Toolbar Design Software also specializes in other types of Internet Explorer and shell extensions:

- Deskbars. Deskbar is a toolbar that is located on the Windows taskbar

- Horizontal and Vertical Panels for Internet Explorer

- Browser Helper Objects: non-visual extensions for Internet Explorer

- Mozilla Firefox toolbars

ScriptLogic Cloak to Improve Enterprise Security by Concealing Secured Files and Folders on Windows Systems
31 January 05 11:45 AM | rodtrent | with no comments

Boca Raton, FL   January 31, 2005 -– ScriptLogic® Corporation (www.scriptlogic.com), a leader in network administration software for Microsoft® Windows®-based networks, today released ScriptLogic Cloak, an innovative software product that enhances the Windows NT File System (NTFS) by providing increased security, more accurate audits and a vastly streamlined experience for users of the network.

“Cloak provides increased security on NTFS volumes by adding ‘out of sight – out of mind’ filtering to the Windows file system. Once Cloak is installed on your Windows Servers, users will only see the files and/or folders that they have permission to access. In addition to tightening security, Cloak also streamlines the user’s experience and provides more accurate auditing of the file system for the security conscious administrator,” said Brian Styles, founder and CTO of ScriptLogic.

Cloak is the latest addition to ScriptLogic’s award-winning suite of products designed to streamline desktop, server and Active Directory management tasks within the Windows enterprise. Any organization that maintains a Windows-based network will benefit from Cloak, and it should be especially welcomed by industries that are under close scrutiny for their security practices, such as government, healthcare and financial services. In addition, Cloak benefits organizations migrating from a Novell NetWare or UNIX environment to Windows Server, since this product will produce the same look and feel that the users are accustomed to.

“Cloak is a natural and necessary extension to the Windows Servers that I deploy and support,” said Robert McLaws, Microsoft MVP and President of Interscape Technologies, Inc. “Having worked with ScriptLogic through the development and testing cycles for Cloak, I’ve been very impressed by the solution and I look forward to recommending the product to my current and future customers.”

Cloak is easily installed to Windows Servers and its functionality can be enabled on individual disk volumes. In addition to filtering network requests on file servers, Cloak can also filter local activity, making it an ideal solution for Terminal Servers and Citrix MetaFrame environments. Cloak does not require user-specific configuration nor the installation of agents onto desktops.

Pricing and Availability

Cloak is available in two editions. The Standard Edition is priced at $495 per server and supports an unlimited number of users per server.  The Small Business Edition retails for $249 and supports a maximum of 75 users per server. Cloak is supported on the Standard, Enterprise, Data Center and Small Business Server editions of Windows Server 2000/2003. Cloak is available through ScriptLogic's global network of distributors and Certified Partners. For more information on Cloak, visit www.scriptlogic.com/cloak.
