Good grief! If Sinclair hadn't of blasted the Acorn BBC out of the water, can you imagine a world built off one of those clunky soulless things?! Am so glad he undercut everyone, I think my mom was especially pleased with the price point, compared to the BBC Micro and the future of gaming, the Commodor 64!
Search the web for Spectrum Birthday and you'll see lots of non-IT websites talking about the birthday, it reveals how broad the Spectrums impact had to a few generations back then :-)
