I am Kung Fu Master.

I like to be in control of myself. I dislike crowds, especially crowds containing people trying to kill me. Even though I always win, I prefer to avoid fights if possible.

  • Who said learning the English language at school was a bad thing?

    [reefs.gif]

It's suppose to be: WWI veterans laid wreaths at Cenotaph!!!!

Never thought of WWI veterans as being capable of coming together and making reefs. We should ship them out to the Great Barrier Reef, and get them busy replacing the bleached reefs out there!

  • AVG Anti-virus takes down WinXP big time

If you own WinXP and use AVG Anti-virus, the recent AVG 8.0 Virus Definition is flagging user32.dll as bad and could put the DLL in it's vault (depending on how you have the product setup).

Shock, horror, WinXP won't boot after this modification!

Here's a link to their FAQ on how to sort this out. If you are reading this at work, and know you have WinXP switched on at home, and also have AVG set to download automatically the latest definitions then you might want to take home a XP CD in case you've lost yours, or follow their instructions and down their tool that fixes up the problem.

I had to laugh at these instructions on how to repair the problem, technical or what! If I was a home user, not that savvy, then i'd be getting a migraine just looking at those instructions. i'm suppose to be a computer engineer and it's giving even me a headache just thinking about having to implement those steps!

  • Done and Dusted: WMUG Event - 31st October - Wally Mead

Just a quick thank you to all that attended, and to those unnamed few that helped organize the Microsoft logistics to get this event up and running. We really hope you got some good value from this event, and if there are any gaps in your knowledge that we can help fill in (scoped to events subject), then drop us a note as we're always happy to help out were we can.

It was a great day, I even learnt a few more tricks from the infamous Wally Mead! Like going commando so to speak, and not using TRACE32! Only Wally could ever pull that one off! Notepad? Come on?!?! Only a true jedi could admin that way!

We over-ran by nearly an hour, but 20+ people stayed to the very end. And, the event was recorded, we're trying to obtain the media as well as find a good home for it to be either streamed or downloaded from. We'll update you all once this has been done.

Thanks again, and special thanks to Wally for popping in en-route to Barcelona!!!
