Crew doesn't show up for a Flight. How can that be!!!
How can an airline company NOT have a crew show up for a flight?
I was traveling home from Ripon, Wisconsin and flew out of MKE to Nashville, with connection through Detriot.
The first flight went great...757 from MKE to Detriot. I exited the plane and looked at the board to check my departure gate and saw Nashville - On time - A49. So I walked from A70 to A49 and when I got there it said...CANCELED.
So I journed to A41 to see if I could get another flight. However, there was not another flight to Nashville that night so I had to stay an additional night in Detroit. Which they provided to me for free.
There was this young lady behind me just crying up a storm and so being the gentleman I am, I asked her if everything was OK. She explained to me that her husband was leaving for IRAQ on Sunday and she needed to get home. She elected to fly to Memphis and have her husband drive down from Nashville to Memphis and pick her up.
So I called Michael Mott, since he lives in Detroit and told him my situation in case he wanted to go get something to eat. But Mr. Mott was on his way out with a couple of people. I'm just sorry I couldn't make arrangements sooner with Mott because he is a fun person to hang out with.
Back to my point...I missed my son's first baseball game of the year (T-ball) and my daughter's B-day party had to get rescheduled for next weekend because the flight was cancelled because the crew didn't show up.
You would think an airport would have a few pilots around that could fly an airplane but I guess that was out of the question.
So, NWA...I'm a bit disappointed in you and your service.
Also, people that choose to take another flight gets a full round trip voucher...people that get canceled do NOT, WHAT GIVES!
