The Do-It-Yourself Code Pack is a collection of the more than 1600 items contained in Microsoft Do-It-Yourself script center dated January 4, 2005.

This database is basically the same exact database as the original Code Repository, that has been previously posted, except that it only contains Do-It-Yourslef Script Center code items. It also has a few table additions/changes and a new form (frmExport).

The default form is now set to the Export form. This database can be used by itself or you can export all code items to your copy of the Code Repository. The process for exporting the code from this Code Pack to your database is very simple and should be self explanatory.

The Do-It-Yourself Code Pack can be downloaded from here. The download is approximately 850 KB.

Please send an email to scriptingdb@yahoo.com if you have any questions, suggestions, feature requests, want to contribute code, or want to provide some general feedback. We will look into implementing user requests in future releases of the database. We encourage everyone to provide us with feedback so we can create a database that will benefit everyone.

Instructions
You can do one of two things when you see that dialog box.

Option 1. Import all the scripts into your current Code Repository
If you choose the button that “Click Me” is pointing to (Export to my Database)

You will then be prompted with a Would you like to continue Yes or No Prompt. This prompt is informing you that there are changes that are fixing to be made to you Current Database. Click Yes.

Now you will have to browse to the original Code Repository Database.

Click Open

The Program will start exporting the scripts from the Code Pack to the Original Code Repository. It might prompt you to verify that you want to import files that are already present in the Code Repository. The choice is totally up to you as far as if you want to have a few scripts with the same name in the database or not. Typically I will click YES to import any of the scripts that might already be in the Code Repository.

Click Exit

Now you can open the Original Code Pack and find all the newest imported files from this Code Pack along with all the files in the Original Code Repository and any files that you have imported into the database.

Option 2. Change the Code Pack into a stand alone Code Repository for the Do-It-Yourself Script Center

If you choose “Change Startup Form” then it will change the Database into a Stand Alone database.

Click on the Change Startup Form

You will be prompted with a Select OK to continue or Cancel screen, Click OK

Now click EXIT (on the Do-It-Yourself Script Center Code Pack Export Screen)

Reopen the Code Pack.

It will now open as a stand-alone Code Pack - Code Repository.

Don’t forget
We are working on releasing a myITforum Code Pack, containing all the great scripts from the myITforum group. In order to try to collect as many scripts as possible, we will be giving away 1 copy of Windows 2003 Server to each of the two top donators of files. The scripts must be ones that were not included in any of the Code Repository Code Packs or the Original Database. The scripts can be any of the following file types: bat, cmd, hta, html, ipf, js, jse, kix, mof, pl, sql, vbe, vbs, wsc, wse, and wsf.
Here is a link that has all the articles relating to the Code Repository on myITforum.com

Here is what you need to do to get submit your scripts: If you are using the Code Repository already, it is pretty simple -

Click on the Export Button

This will dump all your scripts into the Current Default Folder (Which by default is C:\myITforumcodes, but you will need to verify this)

Then zip that folder up and email it to rdcrumbaker@mpdinc.com
