Community Notes
Time for the next evolution of myITForum?
From Tim Mintner's Web blog:
I really love the fact that we can now pull a lot of very useful information from myITforum via RSS. I also love the online forums and the e-mail lists. The articles are all great to read as well. The only problem I have is that they are all separate. I have to constantly check my e-mail, look at the forums, read through the articles, and go through the BLOGS using my RSS aggregator.

Wouldn't it be great if they are were all combined somehow? What if all articles were pulled directly from the BLOGS? If myITforum could pull BLOG posts of type "article" and post them to the Web site, you could just subscribe to a single RSS feed and have a constant article update.

I would also love to see the combination of the e-mail list and the online forums. There is always a lot of great information in each and often the information has to be duplicated because some question was answered in the e-mail list and then asked again in the online forums. Hey, I'm lazy so I'm all for consolidation. I would love to see a single forum with three methods of access. The online forum should feed the e-mail list so that when someone posts to the forum, those who subscribe to the e-mail list get it in their mailbox. Those on the e-mail list should then be able to reply back to the mailing list and have that information automatically post to the forums. Then to top it all of, the online forum could be made available through RSS so those who love RSS can receive the forum postings through their favorite aggregator and then turn around and reply to the forum post using that tool.

This may be just a pipe dream but I think it would make everyone's lives a lot less clutterred. What do you think TechTarget?
