Blogcast: Software Metering with SMS 2003
From Brian Tucker's Web blog:
myITforum.com columnist Daniel Rich has added a new Blogcast (http://www.blogcastrepository.com/SMS/Blogcasts/Contributor/DRich/SoftwareMeteringDMR.htm) to The Blogcast Repository. The Blogcast shows how to meter the use of a specified application. I believe Daniel has an article that will be released any day now on this topic. Click on his name above to see his articles.

So what makes a good Enterprise Management Litmus test?
From Richard Threlkeld's Web blog:
Rod posted (http://www.myitforum.com/blog/rtrent/archive/2005/03/28/4278.aspx) a link to the results of a study that ranks the different Enterprise Management products (http://www.nwc.com/showitem.jhtml?docid=1606f2) yesterday. Obviously he and others have some mixed feelings on the reliability of the source. Me too. I started looking at the report and some things occurred to me. This report evaluated the products "on 14 categories in 3 major areas." The three major areas were:
* Reporting
* Software Distribution
* Management

The first two categories are valid product features that you can stack each vendor up against the other while the third is largely ambiguous. I'll get to it in a moment. Let's look at the Reporting and Software Distribution first. Read the full review: http://www.myitforum.com/blog/rthrelkeld/archive/2005/03/29/4298.aspx
