New ways of learning

From Chris Urban's Web blog:

I'm always looking for better ways to learn. Thus, I've put together a "rough draft" demo of a thought I've been working on.

The concept is a guided interactive tour of doing tasks. As some of you know, my site is a collection of task based videos on SMS and MOM which I talk and show you how to do a task. I thought the next evolution might be more interaction to reinforce and support learning. Thus, the video would have an audio track walking you through the process as you click your way through the task. The current demo doesn't have the audio track on it yet... but I wanted to get some feedback to whether this might be a "good thing or not." I didn't want to waste time if no one would benefit from the efforts.

Jumping on the bandwagon!

From Richard Threlkeld's Web blog:

Well its time to bite the bullet and pull my blog (http://www.msmvps.com/Threlkeld/) off of the msmvps site and over here to myITforum. Really this is where my roots come from anyway so it wasn't that tough of a choice because I'm part of this community more than any other. I really have to give kudos to Rod for putting this together and offering it up to anyone that wants to blog. This enables much more free flowing communication between administrators out there and different vendors. I can't tell everyone how happy I was to see Bill and Brad Anderson starting a blog as well (http://www.myitforum.com/blog/Anderson/). Most people may not understand the significance of this but these are THE two guys that pretty much run SMS at Microsoft, and I've developed a tremendous amount of respect for them over the past year with their views on Management and the community in general.

I hope to start offering some valuable insights here from time to time on management and IT in general as well as some cool scripting and C# stuff that I do on the side, but most of the time I could be full of crap so feel free to tell me if I am. I might also keep it light and talk about working out (I play a lot of sports), playing my saxophone, or what happened this week on the O.C. (thank god that Chrstmakah made it!) or just general drama that happens in my life.
