The Management and Solutions Division User Assistance content group has an immediate opening for an experienced technical writer in its Cambridge, MA office. As a member of the writing team, under the supervision of a lead writer and manager located in Redmond, WA, you will be responsible for designing and writing the documentation for Microsoft SoftGrid Application Virtualization based on feature specs, discussions with members of the feature team, and known troubleshooting issues with the products.
This position requires subject matter expertise in one or more of the following Windows Server technologies: SoftGrid, Systems Management Server (SMS), Configuration Manager 2007, Windows Server 2003, Active Directory, SQL Server, and Windows security. The ideal candidate will have the ability to quickly develop domain expertise for new management products and features, and the skills to schedule and manage writing projects. The writer must have a deep understanding of the IT Professional audience as demonstrated by at least 3 years previous experience as a system administrator, technical trainer or consultant, or a proven track record of successfully documenting such products. The qualified candidate must also have strong communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills with experience managing small projects on deadline. This position offers the longer term possiblity of becoming a project lead in Cambridge, helping to build and manage a technical writing team in that location.
