Skilgroup has a client in Chicago seeking dynamic players to work as Software Engineers in their Advanced Technology Group. The Software Engineers serve as team leaders of an expert strike force to solve the difficult and challenging engineering problems presented by state of the art game technology. The Software Engineer will:
• Work on next generation consoles XBox360 and PS3
• Develop windows-based tools to preview, convert, condition, animate, game assets
• Develop runtime systems including memory, file, audio, threading, graphics, and I/O
• Be a member of a small team working on refactoring existing code, enhancing the design of both new and existing software architectures
Requirements:
• A minimum of a Bachelor's in CS, CE, EE, other sciences including Math or Physics, or- 6+ years equivalent experience instead of formal education
• Ability to write architect large software systems with detailed documentation.
• Ability to schedule work for a large project
• In depth knowledge of C, C++, STL and Templates
• Be familiar with object oriented design, design patterns and UML diagramming
• Data structure knowledge including searching, sorting and memory management
• Working knowledge of Direct X or OpenGL is a plus
• Experience with MFC, Win2K systems or X-Windows is a plus
• Solid software engineering foundations
• Must have completed a basic project from start to finish
• Possess great communication skills
• Experience working effectively with teams
• A desire to learn
The ideal candidate will have:
• Expert knowledge in C++
• Expert knowledge in Object Oriented design
• Proficient knowledge in STL, Design Patterns, and Templates.
• Graphics / Shader experience
• Experience in software architecture and refactoring
• Experience with software development cycle and process
• Embedded software experience.
