Skilgroup is in search of an SMS/MOM Engineer for a very long-term contract with a dynamic client in Oak Brook, IL. The SMS Engineer will analyze user requirements, procedures, and problems and design/implement a Microsoft SMS / MOM environment. The Engineer will analyze to implement a supporting infrastructure to manage and monitor a nationally based system environment, obtaining dedicated resources to deliver on project objective in a timely manner and obtaining specific skill set to accelerate progress.
The right candidate should minimally have 4-6 years of progressive SMS / MOM experience (from Admin to Architect) within a large Microsoft SMS multi-site environment with experience in the Design / Upgrade / Deploy SMS/MOM 2003, 2 to 3 years SMS administrator experience within a large Microsoft SMS/MOM multi-site environment with 5000+ endpoints. Candidate should be a Windows 2000/2003 MCSE. Software Development experience 5+ years; strong communication skills; strong documentation skills; strong organizational skills; self-starter; ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously, proven problem solver; adaptable to a dynamic environment with changing priorities; familiarity with full life cycle software development; project implementation experience; demonstrated ability to work in a team environment.

* Overall infrastructure security monitoring
* Audit of hardware/software inventory via SMS
* Design and test corporate technical solutions
* 2+ years of Point of Sales software development and testing with knowledge encompassing:
- Design and implement Microsoft System Management Server (SMS)
- Design and implement Microsoft Operations Manager (MOM)
- Working knowledge of Operating Systems (Window XP, XPe, Server 2003, Unix)
- Microsoft Office suite knowledge (e.g. Word, Excel, Access etc.)
- Strong understanding of Network principles and technologies (TCP/IP, WAN, LAN, VPN, wireless etc.)
- Working knowledge of a Software Development Life-Cycle (SDLC)
- Developing Windows programming for 3+ years (VBScript)
- Developing C, C++ and VB for 3+ years
- Excellent knowledge on XML, Modular and Object-Oriented Programming)
College degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience preferred.
