Full-time Contract position for Technical Writer at West Hill, CA , 91304

Hello,

Currently I have an opening for a Technical writer with a nationwide Home Loan company at West Hill, CA. This is a contract position for 3-6 months with a good pay. Contract Duration:     Approximately 3 – 6 months

Our client’s Policy and Procedure Team has been tasked with the responsibility to create, format, update, maintain and distribute Standard Operating Procedures for Prime Branches, Fulfillment Centers and Central Office departments.

Primary function of the role: 


This individual must be proficient in Microsoft Word application and Robohelp to format documents, using tables of content. 
Excellent written and verbal communication skills including technical writing and writing policies & procedures is preferred. 
Experience with developing on-line help documentation is required.  
This individual will work closely with the Training Department, P&P and SMEs to ensure that they have been provided with the most current information.
Documentation would include incorporating policies and procedures, informational bulletins, process and system requirements into our SOP database.


    We would like for this person to have the following skills –


    2 -3 years experience writing policies and procedures including creating new, leveraging existing, and maintaining ongoing procedure documentation (prefer in mortgage banking environment)
    Robohelp knowledge.  Prefer proficiency in this software.
    Photoshop knowledge.  Prefer proficiency in this software.
    Experience with interfacing with multiple levels of management and gaining concurrence on copy to be published.
    Ability to consolidate comments from SMEs.  Adept at understanding which SME comments have compliance and/or legal implications requiring rerouting for review/approval to Compliance and Legal departments.
    Experience in conducting interviews with SME's and facilitating meetings with all relevant personnel
    Experience coordinating the complete review and approval process
    Training and experience in applying Information Mapping methodology (or similar programmed instruction methodology)
    Experience in research and analysis methods and techniques
    Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
    Excellent organizational skills
    Self-motivated with excellent business analysis skills
    Ability to work under the pressure of frequent deadlines
    Ability to work as part of a team and deal effectively with all levels of management and employees
    Ability to build and maintain strong relationships between business units (will need to consult and work with Center operations and leadership staff to develop and document procedures in addition to Training staff for delivery)
    Any Marketing- Business to Consumer experience- publications for consumers would be preferred.
