Dell I/T is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer to work on its Enterprise Tools Engineering team. This individual will contribute to the design and implementation of systems management solutions in support of Dell's internal business requirements and should be a top level technical expert in one or more highly specialized phases of systems engineering.
The candidate will work with members of the Enterprise Tools Engineering team to design and help deploy systems management solutions based upon the requirements of internal customer organizations such as Server and Application Support Teams.
The Enterprise Tools Engineering team is responsible for designing monitoring solutions based on Microsoft SMS2003, Microsoft Operations Manager 2005, BMC PATROL, Service Impact Manager, Novell Zenworks for Servers, and other systems management tools/applications.
The position requires strong written and oral communication skills, experience gathering requirements, hands-on experience designing solutions in at least two of the aforementioned products and advanced knowledge of software development concepts and processes with ability to apply to recommended courses of action. Required skill set: Advanced knowledge of SMS2003, BMC Patrol, MOM 2005, Novell ZenWorks for Servers. Knowledge of BMC Service Impact Manager or Enterprise Management Frameworks, SNMP, Linux and Windows Systems Management. Additional skills desired: VBScript, WMI, WSH, Linux shell scripting, SNMP. Optional skills: BMC Control-M, Bindview BV-Control Bachelor's or Master's Degree or equivalent work experience in a large organization is required.
