    Fortune 500 Client is needing a high level Desktop Operations Professional to work as lead for their Desktop Architecture Team. This team is involved in Enterprise Desktop Architecture, special projects, and overall development of the COE (Common Operating Environment).

    They will be needing an individual with Strong Windows Scripting skills, Script Logic, Marimba, Administration skills, and Ghost Imaging.


    Details are below:

    - Application repackaging/troubleshooting packages from the pilot group
    - Know how to package applications for a locked-down environment (Group Policy)
    - Strong Marimba Skills
    - Monitor functionality of Desktop Authority
    - Create actions/scripts
    - Troubleshoot issues with Desktop Authority: Drive mappings, client errors, etc.
    - Upgrade and patch Desktop Authority
    - Look at system status daily and troubleshoot any issues
    - Review monthly Microsoft Patches and recommend patches to Scada
    - Make sure patches are tested before pushing company-wide
    - Someone needs to make sure they are getting the monthly patch email from Microsoft so that they can review the upcoming patches. A monthly patch meeting is held to discuss what these patches do and what recommendations you may have
    - Monitor client health and troubleshoot failed or non-working installations.
    - Troubleshoot Server/Relays/Clients when issues arise.
    - Administration for Console Operators computer assignments.
    - Need to know property and relevance language for custom content.

                The role * overview

                Working out of your home and reporting directly to the head of consulting, you will provide pre-sales support, and training for major sales of 1E*s software portfolio. As well as being involved in the sales lifecycle you will also, when required, undertake direct consulting engagements with customers. These engagements shall be around the deployment of SMS, MOM and 1E products that may have been sold into the customer.
                You will be very hands-on and will develop a deep knowledge of 1E*s products and a good knowledge of SMS and MOM. You will have had extensive experience in the implementation of both of these products in large organizations and may have a background in consulting previously.

                You will be technically authoritative/ confident in front of customers and a good presenter/ communicator. There will be extensive travel throughout the USA and the occasional trip to the UK and Europe.

                The role is high profile within 1E and you will have a direct interface with the executive management team as well as the key delivery personnel on the sales, development and consultancy teams. There is a longer term career path into the consultancy or sales team.

                Key Responsibilities

                1. Providing technical and evaluation support to the sales team and sales prospects for all the company*s software products, and consultancy services. Support is provided via telephone, email and on-site. Activities include:
                * Product support for customer evaluations
                * Technical qualification calls
                * Pre-sales meetings
                * Software & Consultancy Proof of Concepts (POCs) * maximum 10 days

                2. Providing support to 1E*s software development team. Activities include:
                * Product improvement i.e. recommending product improvements, new product ideas
                * Feedback from POC*s regarding faults, improvements, documentation issues etc.

                3. Engaging on projects at customer site in a consulting capacity to deliver:
                * Implementations of the Microsoft SMS and MOM products and associated activities including:
                o Design
                o Proof of concept
                o Pilot implementation
                o Full Rollout
                o Troubleshooting
                o Documentation
                o Upgrades/Audits and follow on advice/guidance

                * Implementing 1E products across SMS and MOM infrastructures.
                * Facilitate partner training on 1E*s products where appropriate

                4. Interface with key members of Microsoft*s Windows Enterprise Management Division to:
                * Keep up to date on latest Microsoft developments in the management space
                * Help educate Microsoft personnel on latest 1E products/solutions
                * Ensure the continued integration between Microsoft and 1E products
                * Help determine possible opportunities for new functionality in existing 1E products or potential new products

                The candidate

                Track record in:
                * Technical consultancy/ technical support in a fast moving and leading edge IT environment.
                * Pre-sales activities/ customer interaction
                * Microsoft Windows Management solutions.
                * Existing relationships with Microsoft WEMD personnel desirable
                Specific Job Skills:
                * A minimum of two years SMS 2.0 or SMS2003 experience.
                * A firm understanding of core Windows 2000/3 technologies such as Active Directory, TCP/IP Networking, Group Policy, etc to a high level of competency.
                * Experience from at least one project which involved design and implementation of SMS 2.0 and 2003 solutions for a large organization.
                * Experience of direct customer interaction, whether through a support or sales capacity.
                * Education to degree level would be an advantage, but is not required with equivalent experience.
                * Experience in MOM would be an advantage.
