SMS Administration/Operations; Fairfax County Public Schools

Fairfax County Public Schools is looking for qualified candidates with SMS and MOM administration experience to fill a vacancy on the IT Desktop Management (DM) team.

Fairfax County Public Schools is located in Fairfax County, Virginia, minutes from downtown Washington, DC and is the 13th largest school system in the United States (for more interesting stats, please visit http://www.fcps.edu/statis.htm).  The Desktop Management team uses SMS 2003 to manage 80,000+ SMS clients (desktops and laptops) and 200+ SMS 2003 servers.
 
A qualified candidate must have experience in the following areas:
SMS 2003 Operations/Management (including basic architecture and design)
Software Distribution and Patch Management with SMS 2003 (both MBSA and ITMU)
Knowledge, understanding, and experience with software packaging (preferably using AdminStudio)
Design, creation, and deployment of operating system images
 
Additional skills:
Experience with Microsoft Operations Manager (MOM) 2005
Operating System Deployment with SMS 2003 leveraging ZTI
Windows Server Update Services (WSUS)
Experience in desktop support (for troubleshooting SMS client installations)
Detailed knowledge of desktop operating systems (Win2K and WinXP)
Working knowledge of Windows 2003 Server
