Windows System Engineer Job Opportunity in Englewood, CO Permanent Position
We are looking for a Windows System Engineer to play a leading role in the design, implementation and administration of Windows based systems. Mincom has a strong commitment to Terminal Server/Citrix based deployment models. We provide the full scope of IT services (including, WAN/LAN, Internet, Email, and MS and custom applications) to large clients with diverse environments. Broad knowledge and experience, and a willingness to learn new systems and services, are key attributes of the person we are seeking.
Participating in an On-Call roster is a requirement of the role. Some out of hours project and maintenance work will also be required from time to time.
Key Experience & Skills:
* 6+ years experience supporting production information systems, including a minimum of four (4) years supporting Windows systems.
* Extensive knowledge of the Windows Server operating environment, including versions through to Windows 2003 Server.
* Extensive Active Directory administration, design and implementation experience
* Thorough understanding of Windows workstations, Windows 9x, Windows 2000 Professional and Windows XP.
* Extensive knowledge of MS Terminal Server/Citrix MetaFrame installations including Windows2000 and 2003 Terminal Server.
* Extensive knowledge of DHCP, WINS, DNS, IIS 5.0-6.0, Browsing Services, Internet services and Windows Security including Group Policy Objects with an Active Directory Domain.
* Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems quickly and efficiently.
* Requires self-motivation and the ability to work with minimal supervision
* Demonstrated ability to liaise effectively with customers.
* Requires the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with internal staff worldwide and customers.
* Requires the ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
* Requires ability to complete independent assignments within a team project and ability to visualize and articulate project parameters.
Additional Desirable Skills
* Production UNIX and network experience is also desirable
* SAN, tape library and fiber switch experience is a plus
* Knowledge of TCP/IP, networking and SMB servers.
* Basic network experience with Cisco, firewalls and VPN is desirable
* Demonstrated project management skills
* Experience in training customers on the system and its use.
* BS in Computer Science, Information Systems Management or related field or equivalent experience.
