This position is for an enterprise client systems management position in a large enterprise of over 35,000 workstations. Ideally candidates should have experience in enterprise-level networks and be skilled in the remote management of workstations in such an environment. This position is in the security organization, experience with IT Security is a plus.
Responsibilities will include:
Operating with a security focus and awareness of the security climate in the IT community – maintaining a security mind-state when implementing any solution
Monitoring ticketing system queues for new work requests and managing various security related evaluations
Building Windows Installer (MSI) packages according to standards, repairing, troubleshooting and preparing for deployment
Improving the reliability and reach of enterprise systems management services on the workstation
Utilizing remote utilities and other provided tools to provide 3rd tier client troubleshooting expertise and support
Technical support of the SMS product, specifically in the area of systems inventory data, software distribution and system health
Enforce all security policies, procedures, and SLA guidelines - creation and maintenance of all related documentation
Thinking creatively to design efficient, manageable, and secure solutions
Skills required :
Strong inter-personal and communication skills - ability to work well with both peers and customers under pressure and deadlines
Ability to identify and solve problems quickly and completely - able to network efficiently in order to locate subject matter experts as needed
Excellent organizational skills - proficient in managing multiple priorities
Must have proven ability to deliver and support IT projects and organizations in a rapidly changing business climate
Technical skills required :
Experience with MSI repackaging is a plus (Wise, Installshield, etc.)
Experience with Remedy ARS is a plus, but not required
Some scripting experience is preferred (VBscript, PERL, etc.)
Intimate knowledge of Microsoft OS (XP, 2K, 2003) is preferred
Proficiency with Microsoft Systems Management Server 2003 is preferred
Expert level experience with Microsoft Active Directory and Group Policy is preferred
