    7:45-8:00 Break
8:00-9:30 Managing a Least Privileged Environment

    Keynote Topic:

    Managing a Least Privileged Enterprise

Many IT organizations seek to offer only the least privileges required for their users to perform tasks. The goal is always to provide users with the minimal rights required to perform their work duties and limit the user’s ability to affect their system’s configuration. In practice, this goal is often not achievable because of application requirements
many applications need the user to be an Administrator on their system. In the end, this means that most users have wide-ranging rights over their system, impacting their ability to bring viruses into their corporate environment, as well as increasing their opportunity to adversely affect their computer system’s stability over time.

DesktopStandard has unique solutions in this space, leveraging Group Policy to keep users out of the local Administrators group, yet allow their applications to run smoothly, even in the absence of the user having Administrative rights. This session will be a demo and discussion of Policy Maker Application Security, showing administrators how to get to a Least Privileged Enterprise. We will discuss the issues surrounding this topic, and discuss how customers can get there with solid process and good tools.

    Location, RSVP, and Directions

Marlborough is located approximately 35 miles west of Boston.

From route 495, take exit 23C (From Either North or South). This ramp takes you to Crane Meadow Road.
