I had asked some weeks ago what folks were using for a video camera. With the upcoming arrival of our daughter I knew we would want to be able to “tape“ many of those precious times as she grows. Before I got around to purchasing one, her grandparents decided they also wanted those precious times 'taped' for them to see and purchased a camera as a gift. It is limited in its features, but from what I can tell it will meet our needs.
The camera is the Hitachi DZ-MV730A DVD Camcorder. It will only record on DVD-R and DVD-RAM. Considering how few players will actually play DVD-RAM's, I find it surprising that Hitachi chose this as one of the media it supports. I will post a review once I have had some more time to play around and see what it can do.
