Actually – I think you are right – if you are choosing select rule…. And you find a rule with that counter – then it is being collected.  The question will be – what is it being collected against?  I might be only Exchange servers, or SQL servers, and not all servers.  Find that rule – look at the target.  It is even possible that rule only writes to the OpsDB, and not the Warehouse.  (rare).

Essentially – when crafting a report – you need to make sure you are collecting the data with a collection rule, and that you are including the right objects in your report, that the rule is targeting.

You are on the right track, and almost there.

Here are some guides to help:

No. I was assumed that because a report can be created by using this parameters within the generic report the data was being collected.

Thank you

I do not believe that Page Faults per second is collected in OpsMgr by default.  Just because a performance counter exists on a managed agent – does not mean that OpsMgr collects it.

Have you configured a rule to collect this \object\counter\instance from a specific class of machines?

I am trying to create a report with the following parameters:

Microsoft Generic Report Library

                Performance

                                New Series

                                                Add Group

                                                                Select Rule:

                                                                                Name: Page Faults Per Second

                                                                                Object: Memory

                                                                                Counter: Page Faults/sec

I can select all of these with the server name in the Add Group but the Report does not show any data. It appears that no data is going to the DW. I can see data when I run perfmon on the server itself but not in ops mgr reporting.

Or is there another report I can use to get the data for the Page Faults Per Second instead of using the MS Generic Rept Lib.?

Any idea on how to get the data from the server for this parameter to Ops Mgr DW so I can create a report?

Thanks

Karen
