Subject: [msmom] RE: Exchange 2007 passive nodes - Error 10706 and 10707 repeating

Bob – I looked this up, and the few times this has been reported, two different things have solved it:

1.       Uninstall the R2-upgraded agents from the cluster nodes.  Make sure that the registry is clean of HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Microsoft Operations Manager and HKLM\System\CCS\Services\Healthservice.  Then – install the R2 agent clean.

2.       If the workflows below have overrides (common) delete these overrides, and re-create them.  Possibly in a new Override MP.

I’d get to that Native Exchange MP ASAP.  I have implemented it many times and the results have always been positive… it is much cleaner, less noisy, and less problematic than the MOM 2005 conversion MP for Exchange 2007.

Subject: [msmom] Exchange 2007 passive nodes - Error 10706 and 10707 repeating

We recently upgrade to OpsMgr R2,  installed the latest mgmt pack for R2 (6.1.7533.0).

We have the converted Exchange 2007 mgmt pack in place with plans to migrate to the R2 version next quarter.    At this time,  the PASSIVE nodes of the exchange Mailbox and public folder clusters have repeating 10706 and 10707 errors in the log indicating:

10706

The following error occurred connecting to the script data source for management group '{65D48B4B-371B-C9A8-CD28-0BFD68E0F410}', target computer '{5ADBBEC1-2562-626B-622D-648A3C053D65}', and data type '{C66A80D9-5130-4520-BD5A-0DDE195A72F7}' (HRESULT 0x80070002). Some data may be lost. Please verify the Data source is running.

The send queues on the passive nodes are at 70% and more.  Have tried to delete the cache and restart the Health service after confirming all the monitoringhost.exe processes are stopped,  they are set to have proxy enabled, and have added OOMADS as a possible help.   No such luck yet.

Any one ran across this?   These started approx 24 hours post conversion from OpsMgr 2007 SP1 to R2.    Possible backward compatibility ??  Neither of the servers have been rebooted since the upgrade.

Thanks for your thoughts in advance.
