Subject: [msmom] RE: disk drive up to Z

We went to a custom timed script response rule calling a vb script allowing us to set thresholds per drive letter.   The script scanned for qualifying drives and monitored accordingly or could be targeted for specific drive letters only.   Could assign this to either a virtual server or physical node.    When the threshold was met,  it created an event that was picked up by a second rule that made the actual alert.     This helped us with consolidated servers where multiple business areas had interest in a single volume and alerts could be routed accordingly and  both windows and Veritas clusters as resources switched nodes.

We used overrides push this out as the rule was created in a disabled state.

Would this be helpful??

Hi Narendra,

In the Windows OS MPs you will find monitors for Logical Disk Free space. These monitor all of your logical drives natively and allow you to set thresholds specific to system and non-system drives. If you want to further customize a threshold for a group of logical drives (all S: drives) as an example, or a single E drive on a single server, this too is possible with overrides.

Hi,

I have drives from C,D,E,F………….upto Z in the servers(approximately 15-20  servers). I think C &D are monitored by default. Is there any way to monitor the remaining drives…any thing needs to be enable for this issue….please suggest me.

Many Thanks,

Narendra
