Ok, Just resolved the issue after carefully manipulating the SRReportService.config file.

I've attached the good copy encase anyone ever needs a reference...

Within the config file, review the information beside the following tag:  <Extension Name="SQL"

Thanks,

-Matt

Subject: RE: [msmom] ACS - Report Error - SQL Reporting Services

Update...

So my RSReportServer.config file is back to original state and I'm still receive the following error whenever I run any ACS specific reports:

  • An error has occurred during report processing.
    • Cannot create command for data source 'dataSource1'.
      • An attempt has been made to use a data extension 'SQL' that is not registered for this report server.

The workaround in my finding below doesn't resolve this issue.

All other Ops Mgr reports works fine - What's the deal with this??

TIA,

-Matt

Subject: [msmom] ACS - Report Error - SQL Reporting Services

 Hello All,

Ops Mgr R2 has been up and running for a while now in our lab environment.  Today we installed and configure ACS by following both the Microsoft TechNet articles.

After enabling and configuring the auditing A.D Policy we have successfully configured two Windows 2008 D.C Forwarders and one Collector.

ISSUE:

Whenever I run a ACS report (no matter which one) I received the following error regardless if it was in the Ops Mgr console or within the reports website:

An attempt has been made to use a data extension 'SQL' that is not registered for this report server.

<No other data is given>

All other Ops Mgr non-acs reports work fine.

I found the following blog with the same error and tried the workaround on modifying the RSReportServer.config file...

BLOG: ERROR: An attempt has been made to use a data extension 'SQL' that is not registered for this report server.

After following the workaround, SQL Reporting Services service doesn't start.  I restore the original RSReportServer.config and I still receive the error detailed above.

I've attached our RSReportServer.config to this e-mail.  Can anyone suggest and resolution to this issue??

ACS Collector:

1 - Windows 2008  SP2, RMS, SQL 2005 with Reporting Services, ACS Collector

ACS Forwarders:

2 - Windows 2008 SP 2 D.C's

Thanks!!

-Matt
