Subject: [msmom] RE: Monitor virtual server VMWARE

There are no issues with monitoring a Windows 2000 virtual machine hosted by VMware.  We treat the OS as a stand-alone machine, with no relation to the ESX host.

The windows 2000 VM just needs to meet the minimum agent requirements per the supported config guide.

You need to look at the agent OpsMgr event logs – and determine what is the communication issue.

Subject: [msmom] Monitor virtual server VMWARE

Hi all, I’m having trouble with an agent on a virtual windows 2000 server installed on ESX platform. In fact I see the agent in “unknown” state.

I know it’s necessary a management pack to monitor ESX server but  I’d like to understand if there is incompatibility between virtual machine and the agent SCOM.

Bye
