You can start with the OpsMgr Infrastructure Design and Planning (IPD Solution Accelerator, which steps you through decisions and documentation around infrastructure design, scope of monitoring and MP deployment. It also references other documentation you should consult at each step.

You can then move on to the Operations Guide and MP Life cycle Webcasts to get a handle on recurring tasks, backup recommendations, and managing MP deployment going forward.

There is no canned step-by-step project checklist I am aware of. This would vary somewhat based on scope anyway.
