We have Scom 2007 SP1 and windows 2003 SP2 DC’s.
We monitor 1 domain with 3 AD sites. ASD, LON & Newyork. ASD has 2 DC’s & the other sites have each one DC.
Installed OOMAds on all DC’s. In LON & Newyork I also installed OOmads on a SMS 2003 server. In ASD i installed it on a exchange 2007 server.
Since mounths I receive the following alert from the SMS server Newyork :
Alert: AD Client Monitoring: AD Connectivity is unavailable, or the response is too slow

At first this happened once in a while, and because we know that this WAN connection has more latency then the other WAN connection, we didn’t mind the alerts.
But lately we do get the alerts several times a day, and also from the LON site, which before never generated these alerts.
Only thing I did 4 weeks ago, was upgrading all 2003 SP1 DC’s with SP2.
The thing I want to know is how does the client monitoring works. Does it query the local DC, the one in it’s own subnet, are does it looks for the PDC to do the query’s?
