Subject: RE: [msmom] False Positive Alerts To Ignore

Can you give an example of a “false positive” ?

We don’t alert on anything that shouldn’t be alerted on out of the box.  Not all organizations will consider all alerts “actionable”….

What do you mean alerts generated by performance counters?  If you mean the alert when a perf counter is missing – that was disabled by a hotfix that should be in all environments… if you are still alerting on that – then I would take a *serious* look at your hotfix status.

Does anyone have a list of all the alerts that be can ignored (false positives) which are generated for the Windows Server 2008 platform? For instance, the alerts generated for performance counters?

Thanks,
