I don’t believe we support that.  Just another reason why AD integration is so good.  J

When you preinstall an agent with the managementgroup information… it loads the agent registry with the MG and MS info.  If the agent has *never* contacted the management group… you should be able to modify these two settings in the registry, since it has never gotten config or a cookie at that point.

The typical way to “change” a MG for an existing agent – is to either reinstall the agent, or multi-home the agent via push, then uninstall the agent from the other MG.

Does anybody know if there is a script already to change the management group that an agent is assigned with? I found out the server image team typo’ed the wrong management group name in the image, so new servers coming online are all unable to communicate. The image part is corrected but now the new servers to be re-assigned to the correct group now. There must be an easier way to do this that isn’t coming to mind like changing the reg key or initiating a repair.

Thanks,

Troy
