Apple Fall 2010 Announcements

I hope many of you had a great summer, and with fall quickly approaching (here in the northern hemisphere) back to the grind.. I will try to continue to post interesting enterprise mobility information, thoughts and perspective in my blog here as time permits!

For those who missed the yearly fall Apple announcements that happened earlier today:

iOS 4.1 – Minor updates, bug fixes, available next week.

In the betas it appeared that e-mail based FaceTime support may be released in it as well..

iOS 4.2 – Printing, available in November – including the iPad, which brings iOS 4 to the iPad.

New iPod Touch – update with iPhone 4 features as expected, FaceTime, Retina display etc, available next week.

Probably the most exciting update for corporate enterprise is the iPad iOS 4.2 and additional native printing functionality.  This would indeed be a cool feature and should function better than the current printing solutions available in the AppStore..

With many of the Mobile Device Management (MDM) solutions in the marketplace announcing iOS 4 support this fall should be a great time to think about how to better manage all your mobile Apple iOS 4 assets, especially the growing number of iPads i see in the corporate environments..
