I do the LIKE "%Model 123%" thing always as there are a few HP machines with unique text at the end of their models.

A better way to handle this is to adjust the timeout interval of the PXE cache: myitforum.com/.../pxe-cache.aspx.

There's a better way than restarting the service: just change the cache timeout.

Hi Mike,

Would you be willing to share the video for your desktop team? I have been trying to educate some of ours, seems to be a fighting battle :(

I have seen this too many times, as the advert never failed, didnt think too much of it either, I did try and find out how to resolve it but didnt get very far, would be interested to find out the cause.

This is a very effective way of preventing futher advertisement executions. However, this will not stop any client that has previously recieved the advert or those who are offline when you use the right click tools.

I wrote up something similar to this a while back: myitforum.com/.../how-to-stop-an-errant-advertisement-in-sms-2003-sccm-2007.aspx

I agree, what you wrote above will work great. It is just not a NOW solution.
