Starting the MMS Story

So first, I guess some introductions are in order. My name is Martin Dey and I run the Microsoft Management Summit event at Microsoft. All good blogs start by defining their inspiration - so here goes.
Today I was working at an event in Las Vegas when I bumped into a Microsoft customer I've known for years - Doug Miller of CDW. We got chatting about this and that, and ended up chatting about the plans for MMS 2010 this year. I love bouncing ideas for the event around with past attendees and this was a great conversation as Doug has been to several of the past MMS events. At the end of our chat he said: "You know Martin, I really enjoyed this. It was cool to hear what's going on and what'll be happening ahead of time. You should start a blog about this stuff and let folks listen in - I'm sure they'd be interested."
Well that sounded like an interesting idea. And I always wondered what this blog stuff was all about. So here goes for “Martin's Road to MMS". I've no idea whether anyone else will be interested or if Doug and I are the only ones who get excited about this stuff. Why don't we find out? I promise to provide updates here on what we're doing, and where we're going with the event. If you leave comments I promise I'll read them (and possibly read them aloud to the MMS team too at our weekly meetings). And as time allows I'll try to respond where I can. So let's give it a whirl - and start down the road to MMS 2010!
