This Blog --

This blog is about my experience as a technology implementer and user: my triumphs, discoveries, and expletives.

Me --

Technology has been my life for over 15 years; for work and play, at the office and at home. My experiences run the gamut: programming, networking, system administration, Windows, Linux, Oracle.

I am currently employed at national Microsoft consulting partner and have held various other IT positions.

I am a contributing author the book System Center Configuration Manager Unleashed 2007, am an active Microsoft MVP in ConfigMgr, and have spoken at both MMS and TechEd North America multiple times.

My Bias --

If Microsoft is the first coming of the Galactic Empire, then sign me up as one of Bill Gates’ agents: like Mara Jade. I’m no clone though and firmly believe that each situation has a “best” tool to get the job done right. Depending on the situation, that tool could be a lot of different things; to only consider a Microsoft tool would be just plain ignorant. The flip-side is just as bad though: considering only an open-source tool or a Mac tool or Sun tool or anything not Microsoft. Zealotry for the sake of zealotry is a losing proposition.

Technology --

Every job (since college) that I’ve had has been in technology. I’ve never worked anywhere that everyone did not have a “PC” on their desk. I often wonder what people did before the “PC”? What would I have done? I vaguely remember the pre-Internet days – they sucked.
