SMS/SCCM vs Promisec Spectator - Part 1 of 2 (Their Comparison)

If you're an SMS or SCCM guy and you want to get your blood boiling, just look at this writeup the people at Promisec created that compares SMS to their Promisec Spectator.  I mean no disrespect to the people at Promisec, but man...this thing couldn't be more wrong.  Either they don't really know what SMS does, or they're comparing it to an alpha release of SMS 1.0, or they've had a temporary lapse in ethics in an effort to get a sale.

Some memorable statements from the writeup:

"In the event that the administrator needs to run a scan, Spectator will be able to
complete the scanning in a minutes (rather than days like SMS) without affecting the
network and the endpoints being inspected.
Days? Really?

...while with SMS you will need to build another rule and then run an inspection yet again."
Are they implying that when "the administrator needs to run a scan" you don't really have to run another scan with their tool...that it will just magically sense it and run it by itself?

“SMS will not report on Machines which his agent is not installed on while Spectator in clientless in order to “catch” anything on the network.”
...???

"Spectator maintains a database of threats which are constantly being researched and updates and enables customers to run security checks on the latest threats. SMS cannot support it, which will require a company to research and update their own database of threats"
Two letters, A. I.

STAY TUNED

I've got a rebuttal in part 2...
