Before you start: If you attempt to convert an MLS spreadsheet that was created in Office 2003 (.xls), you will not succeed and Office 2007 will fail with an exception. You must therefore first convert the file to an Office 2007 file.
1. Open the Office 2003 MLS spreadsheet (xls) with Office 2007 Excel
2. Select ‘Save as’ Excel Workbook
3. Verify the MLS spreadsheet has the Office 2007 extension (xlsx)
4. Open the new Office 2007 MLS spreadsheet (xlsx) with Office 2007 Excel
5. Select ‘Save as’ XML worksheet
6. Copy the XML file to the previously created secure SMB share
7. You have successfully created an importable copy of the MLS statement

1. Open the Office 2003 MLS spreadsheet (xls) with Office 2003 Excel
2. Select ‘Save as’ XML worksheet
3. Copy the XML file to the previously created secure SMB share
4. You have successfully created an importable copy of the MLS statement
å Importing the MLS XML into the Site database
1. Click on the ‘Computer Management’ node and expand it
2. Click on the ‘Asset Intelligence’ root node and expand it
3. Focus (highlight) the root ‘Asset Intelligence’ node
4. In Actions pane click on ‘License Import Wizard’
5. Read the welcome introduction and click ‘Next’
6. Enter the path to the SMB share containing the XML MLS file (e.g. \\dan-server-01\MLS\MLS_File.xml)
7. Click ‘Next’
8. Review the summary and click ‘Next’
9. Wait for the import process to complete. This can take several seconds
10. Review Confirmation page to assure success and no errors
11. Click ‘Close’
12. You have successfully imported a copy of the MLS statement into the SCCM database
