After moving from SMS 2003 with ITMU to ConfigMgr 07 software updates I found that the end-user experience when I deployed patches could not be exactly the same as it had been previously. I put together this document to present to management so that they could determine which combination of software update settings we would use to deploy patches. I also documented the steps that I took to acheive each of these scenarios which I will post in a later blog. Hopefully this document will save other administrators from going through to trouble of documenting all these scenarios themselves.
