Windows Live Mail won't connect to port 25?
Interestingly, I'll have to troubleshoot my machine a little further. I currently use Outlook 2007 for email (all of it). Since upgrading to Windows Vista, I tried Windows Mail and it handles mail faster than Outlook does. Keep in mind that Outlook 2007 and Windows Mail has no issues whatsoever sending and receiving mail from all of my accounts, including POP and HTML. I installed Windows Live Mail, and the only accounts I can send to are those accounts that don't use SMTP port 25. I can receive from those accounts just fine, and it's fast, however I can't send. I've checked everything, including just importing the account settings from Windows Mail, and it just won't send.
I googled/live searched Windows Live Mail and sending appears to be a common issue with Windows Live Mail and Windows Live Mail desktop. What gives?
