Installing Smartphone Blogging Tool -- Phone Diarist
I thought I'd post the instructions for installing Phone Diarist, the blogging tool for Windows Mobile 6 Standard/Smartphones.
1. Download Phone Diarist here.
2. Unzip the file and find the 302954_phonediarist2 folder.
3. It should create several subfolders (phonediarist2/phonediarist2setup/release). In the Release subfolder, you should find phonediarist.cab.
4. Copy phonediarist.cab to your device either through an external storage card or ActiveSync/WMDC.
5. Run phonediarist.cab.
Once phonediarist is installed, launch the application. To configure for use with your blog, go to Menu | Weblog | Add | Community Server.
The api url I used was http://myitforum.com/cs2/blogs/xxxxxxxx/metablog.ashx. Obviously substitute your blog for the xxxxxxxx, or use the api for your community server if you don't blog on myitforum.
The user name and password are the same you use to log in to your blog control panel. Once you have the appropriate entries, select Confirm.
After a few seconds, you should see the title of your blog appear, with a blank Title and Enter Post: screen.
