Mostly gadgets, but I'll occassionally get sidetracked...

Frustrating...

Anyone else using Outlook 2007 for reading RSS feeds?  I'm trying to get used to it because I'm in Outlook all day long reading email, checking my calendar, etc.  There are a couple of RSS feeds I have that keep getting duplicate posts.  Only a couple of them are doing it, but it's really frustrating.  Why do the posts keep showing up as unread items?  I have enough to read without getting the same posts over and over again...

I've tried several news readers, including Google Reader and Feedreader, but they have their limitations, and don't really want to load additional apps.  Anyone else seeing this?

I wonder if 'Updates are coming across as new?  e.g. You receive a post in outlook, I notice a spelling error in my blog and fix it, Outlook notices it was updated and marks the post as new again.  If that is what is happening, most readers offer a way to turn off updates.

From MS:

office.microsoft.com/.../HA012304631033.aspx

After you have added an RSS Feed to Outlook, a folder is displayed for the RSS Feed in the Navigation Pane. When you open the folder, the latest items downloaded from the RSS Feed are displayed. These items might contain only headlines with links that you can click to read the complete article.

Outlook checks the RSS publisher's server for new and updated items on a regular schedule.

The new and updated items are downloaded to Outlook where they are displayed in the folder associated with the RSS Feed. You open, read, and delete these RSS items just as you would any mail message. You can even move, flag or forward the information to someone else.
