Mostly gadgets, but I'll occassionally get sidetracked...

What's up with Verizon's 8830?

I've been testing both Sprint PCS and Verizon 8830 for the last couple of weeks.  I've also tested AT&T 8800.  The built-in GPS with Google maps works extremely well.  Browsing is also extremely fast.  I will admin that RIM has the PIM stuff down to a fine art.  Giving world connectivity to CDMA/EVDO devices is a great feature as well if we can get it to work properly.

But, I've noticed that the built-in GPS is glaringly absent from Verizon's 8830.  Why would they do that?  That's a great feature, and it's one of the great add's to the 8800 series, so why is it absent from Verizon's version of the 8800 series Blackberry?
