HTC unveiled a new line of Windows Mobile smartphones and PDAs that include Microsoft's Direct Push email capabilities, at the 3GSM conference this week. One of those devices, the Trilogy, is claimed to be the world's first smartphone to implement DAB-IP (digital audio broadcasting over IP).

According to HTC, the introduction of push email on the Windows Mobile 5.0 platform is expected to drive "significant growth of the market for wireless email" and generate further demand for smartphones and PDAs.

"Our partners demand products for Direct Push Email and Mobile TV that give them the best competitive advantage to serve their customers. We believe that Microsoft's Direct Push e-mail solution is a very compelling proposition for large as well as small and medium business customers. The Mobile TV will provide our customers and end user brand new service and bring new innovation for user experience and business development", stated HTC president Peter Chou.
