If you are using ConfigMgr 2007, or System Center Essentials (or are thinking of using either of these products), join our chat to discuss how Dell is Simplifying IT by providing Update Catalogs for both servers and workstations. Dell internal IT will lead the chat to discuss how the update catalogs can make your life easier, and members of our Product Teams will also participate in the chat to answer any questions you may have.
The Dell Updates Catalogs are free, and can be used with both ConfigMgr and System Center Essentials.
You may recall the Inventory Tool for Dell Updates (ITDU) in SMS 2003. Use the Dell Updates Catalog instead of the ITDU in ConfigMgr. The Dell Updates Catalog uses the Microsoft System Center Updates Publisher (SCUP) tool. By using SCUP, you're able to detect and deploy Dell Updates using the same process that you use for Microsoft Updates in ConfigMgr. In fact, you can deploy both Dell and Microsoft Updates in the same update deployment to simplify IT administration, and provide a better end-user experience
Dell has also recently launched a catalog for workstations (a.k.a. "Business Clients"), such as the Latitude E-Series and the Optiplex 960.
Join the chat on Tuesday, December 9th at 4:00 pm EST (details, create a reminder) to learn more about the catalogs, and to get answers to your questions.
Review the Dell Updates Catalog home page on the Dell Tech Center for more information.
Are you using the Dell Updates Catalog? Send us your feedback by posting a message on the Dell Updates Catalog home page.
