Installing MOM 2005 Reporting on a Server with SQL 2005

I was trying to get MOM 2005 reporting to install on our new MOM 2005 server and could not get past the Pre-Requisites. I installed SQL 2005 SP2 and the MOM Reporting server was freaking out. I tried every MS article I could find to get this stupid thing to install.

Steps to install MOM 2005 SP1 and MOM 2005 Reporting on SQL Server 2005

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/918481/en-us

The "Check Prerequisites" task returns an error when you run the task from a slipstream version of MOM 2005 Service Pack 1

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/909846/

NONE of the articles helped.

I finally tried something crazy and it worked. I unchecked the "Automatically Detect Virtual Directories" and just typed them in and the install passed the pre-requisite.
