Trying to give something back to the Community...
So I've been looking forward to iOS 4.2 ever since it was announced primarily for the multitasking on the iPad which works great (sure there are other features such as folders but they're not on my priority list for now).
One cool feature I wasn't expecting to be in this latest update is the "Find my iPxx" application. Basically you configure your device (iPhone, iPad or iPod) with a MobileMe account. Then if you misplace your device you can sign into the MobileMe website with the account configured on the device and it will not only tell you where it is it will also allow you to:
To find out how to setup "Find my iPhone" goto:
http://www.apple.com/uk/iphone/find-my-iphone-setup/
If you want to find out how to setup "Find my iPad" goto:
http://www.apple.com/uk/ipad/find-my-ipad-setup/
If you've got an iPod and want to set it up on there (think it only works on the new models but check), goto:
http://www.apple.com/uk/ipodtouch/find-my-ipodtouch-setup/

If you're planning on taking any Microsoft Certification Exam but not overly sure if you'll pass (I'm sure you will), then at the time you book your exam you have the option of paying the regular exam price +15%. By paying the extra you'll be able to have another try at the exam if you fail it first time round (so it's not free like it was before but still a good deal).

Microsoft has just released the following new KB article:

Asset Intelligence custom labels do not get replicated to child sites in System Center Configuration Manager 2007
Symptoms
Newly created custom labels are present in the System Center Configuration Manager 2007 central site however they do not show up on child sites. You do not see any replication related issues in any of the logs and the AIKBMGR.LOG does not show that an attempt is being made to replicate these objects. You may also see a message similar to the following in the AIKBMGR.LOG:
0 changes in range [0x00000000043744F8-0x000000000265AC79] Note that the left HEX value in the range above is greater than the HEX value on the right. Also, whenever you make a change and a new message is generated, the right HEX value changes but is still smaller than the left HEX value.
I'd previously gambled that the next version of ConfigMgr (codenmae "v.Next" at the moment) would in fact become ConfigMgr 2011 based on a guess I had. Well seems that the rumours I'd heard that this wasn't going to be the case have been proved true as I've now heard on two occasions that Microsoft have publicly stated that ConfigMgr v.Next will in fact be called "ConfigMgr 2012".
So not only does London get to host the Olympics that year we'll also be treated to a new version of ConfigMgr.
Here's to many more ConfigMgr 2012 posts.
Just to let you all know that from now on I shall only be updating this blog with WMUG-related content. All other content (including announcements of new FAQShop-related articles), will now be made on my myITforum blog which you can access at:
http://myitforum.com/cs2/blogs/chobbs/default.aspx
As an FYI my WMUG blog is mirrored over to my myITforum blog anyway.
Sorry for any inconvenience.
Yes. When you start the installation of R3 it writes all activity to the "ConfigMgr2007R3.log" file which is stored in the %temp% directory. [Go to article]
