[Rant] Taxed to enter the US on holiday? No thanks I’ll stay in Europe...

What’s happened to the World? I don’t remember as a child ALL THE TIME the news being dominated by money and taxes (and this was BEFORE the Credit Crunch which a LOT of companies are just using as smoke and mirrors to hide behind).

With rising aviation fuel surcharges and now some of the large airlines like BA, Virgin and others saying you now need pay extra for baggage the latest idea is a $10 tax on us Brits to enter the US as tourists with the money being used to “promote tourism”. Well you’ll need the money America as people will stop coming. So much for our “special relations”. Seems to be getting even more one sided IMHO.

So will I be coming Stateside for a holiday? Well if you live in the US you can breathe a sigh of relief as this has definitely put the kybosh on any plans - it’s not about the money it’s the damn principle of the thing - Land of Free? Only if you’re American it seems.

So Mr. Brown what do YOU think to this and what are you going to be about it?
