UGH!. . . . Literally

ABC is developing a SITCOM (Caveman) based on the “So Easy Even a Caveman Can Do It” add campaign run by GEICO.COM.

Now, I think (as do a lot of folks) these commercials are funny. But, this is a perfect example of Less is More or Taking it too far.

There is NO NEED to make a TV show based on these adds. It’s it makes it to the point of airing the pilot - - -I hope it falls faster than bag of hammers.

"Cavemen" will revolve around three pre-historic men who must battle prejudice as they attempt to live as normal thirtysomethings in modern Atlanta.

Steven Spielberg is a criminal?

Well, if being in the possession of stolen merchandise is still a crime, then, yes, he’s a criminal in my book (well for that and producing that 1995 monstrosity called Casper and asking people to pay money for it)

What am I really talking about?

LOS ANGELES - A Norman Rockwell work stolen from suburban St. Louis more than three decades ago was found in Steven Spielberg's art collection, the

FBI announced Friday.

The painting, Rockwell's "Russian Schoolroom," was snatched during a late-night burglary at a gallery in Clayton, Mo., on June 25, 1973. The Oscar-winning filmmaker purchased the painting in 1989 from a legitimate dealer and didn't know it was stolen until last week, the FBI said in a statement.

Verizon PC 5740 Wireless

I am headed out to Chicago on Sunday to set up a (two man) sales office for my company.

One of the things they have requested was a few PC Cards for their notebooks so they could get online when there was not wireless (or wired) access available to them.

After researching various cards and services I ended up going with the Verizon PC5740. Which is ironic since all of the cell service I use for my office is Verizon. Now, while it would have been nice to go with Verizon right from the start) for bill consolidation etc) I was not bound to that. I wanted my road warriors to have the best card they could.

When I say “the best” that means something a little different when you are comparing what is “the best” from a geek’s perspective and what is “the best” from a traditional end user’s perspective. The later is what I was going by (with one caveat – the actual connection speed and reliability had to be quality). I had to approach this from the end user’s perspective in regards to ease of use.

Sure, you may say, what’s so hard about pushing a PC Card into a notebook? But there’s more to it than that - keep your geek head straight here . . .  we’re talking about making things easy on the ends user. I want them to be able to just slip the card in and go.

The Verizon card is the card to deploy (in my opinion) if you want your end users to just pop it in and be off into the wild.

Then again, what do I know?
