Zune v2

November 13, 2007

An update for the unhappy Zune owners....  I have now spend a better part of 6 hours on the phone with tier 2 support and here is the end result.

I rebooted my computer 19 times. (What a difference that makes)

cleared the temp folder 13 times (Still Failed)

tried installing the software so many different ways I lost count (ALL FAILED)

created a new user profile and tried to install it there (IT FAILED)

gutted the registry..  (IT FAILED)

I now have an open case with Microsoft and a non working Zune... Which was working before the update.

And the saga continues on.

2. run package to extract to your computer

3. go to directory that you extracted to, run startzune.exe

4. proceed with installation, following instructions

I have to say the only difference with mine is that I allowed the Zune connection to the PC to perform the upgrade for me.  Mine works - just not happy with the interface.

I just got a zune for my wife for christmas. i was up till 2 am christmas eve tring to get the stupid thing to work. after about 4 hours i discovered the .net 2.0 was broken. I had to rip out .net 2.0 by the roots. then i installed .net 3.5 and everything installed and is now working correctly. This is version 2.3 that was just released.
